About this event
Speaker: Dr. Spencer Daugherty, University of Colorado Boulder Title: “The stable Tamari lattice” Abstract: The Tamari lattice is a poset that captures structure related to the associative law. It has importance in Catalan combinatorics, lattice theory, polyhedral geometry, and the study of the diagonal coinvariants. We unify the Tamari lattice and two of its generalizations as objects contained within a larger infinite lattice we call the stable Tamari lattice. We discuss various lattice properties as well as interesting results on the height-generating function of intervals. We also study the structure and enumeration of principal lower order ideals.
The Discrete Math Seminar (DMS) is intended for Kennesaw State faculty working in the various areas of algebra, number theory, and discrete mathematics to get together to discuss their current work or related questions. Seminars often involve advanced mathematical knowledge. However, the seminars are open to anyone interested in attending.
