Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 29th of October.
Good morning, Roswell.
🏘️ Community
If SNAP benefits are not reloaded in November due to the federal shutdown, several metro Atlanta groups are ready to help families with food, baby supplies, and emergency aid—North Fulton Community Charities in Roswell is among those offering support.
Local programs will provide aid at food pantries, mobile markets, and emergency assistance sites.
🏛️ Government
Georgia has paused issuing new SNAP benefits on or after November 1 due to the government shutdown and lack of federal funding—current EBT balances remain active for all recipients.
This pause will affect about 1.6 million households, many of which include children, seniors, and disabled adults.
