FINANCE NEWS

  • CarMax reports that electric vehicle loans offer lower interest rates and longer repayment terms—benefits that may include rebates and home charging station costs rolled into the loan. Consumers in Roswell can apply through auto lenders or credit unions to secure financing for new or used EVs as battery technology improves.  WSB-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said 27,450 voters will receive notices that they must respond within 40 days to verify their registration—if not, they risk being removed from the voter rolls. The state has already canceled over 478,000 inactive registrations as part of its effort to update the voter list.  WSB-TV
  • Roswell City Council passed a Development Finance Program on Aug. 25 that provides loan assistance for new hotels with a minimum $4M loan for projects valued at $20M—no city tax dollars will be used as the city acts as program administrator. The council also approved final plats for an 8-lot development on Pine Grove Road and a Hill Street mixed-use overlay to encourage local growth.  Appen Media

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Braves beat the Marlins by a score of 11 to 2 on Tuesday night when Ozzie Albies homered twice, doubled and drove in four runs—Tyler Kinley pitched a scoreless eighth inning as the team staged a run of nine in the final inning. Joey Wentz is set to start on Wednesday against Marlins' Ryan Gusto as the team prepares for their next game.  WSB-TV
