- ➤ Roswell will honor officer Jeremy Labonte with a roadway dedication after he was killed in February while responding to a suspicious call — a ceremony featuring state Sen. - ➤ Georgia DOT will suspend lane closures on interstates during Labor Day weekend from 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 29th to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2nd to ease congestion and improve safety; however, some closures may remain for emergencies. - ➤ A federal report documented that most floors at Rice Street jail had only one detention officer for around 200 inmates—creating conditions where contraband and makeshift weapons were smuggled into the facility.
