After returning from vacation, a Roswell couple discovered a python under their deck—animal control has been alerted to safely remove the snake.

Cobb County-based CENTEGIX announced that its Safety Platform is now in 90% of Georgia schools and is protecting over 15,000 sites and 15 million people in 48 states — the company reported double new bookings in education along with increased demand in healthcare and government, reflecting its growing role in safety solutions.

Fulton County commissioners approved a $1.1B project to build a special-purpose facility for 600 inmates with mental health and medical needs and to renovate the Rice Street jail, though Commissioner Mo Ivory opposed the measure over concerns about unsolid funding.

The new facility will begin procurement in 2026 and be completed in 2028 while renovations to the jail will start in 2029 and finish by 2034.

Former councilman Steve Dorvee announced his candidacy for mayor on Aug.20—saying he ran because the current mayor dismissed residents’ concerns.
