- ➤ Cobb County-based CENTEGIX announced that its Safety Platform is now in 90% of Georgia schools and is protecting over 15,000 sites and 15 million people in 48 states — the company reported double new bookings in education along with increased demand in healthcare and government, reflecting its growing role in safety solutions. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fulton County commissioners approved a $1.1B project to build a special-purpose facility for 600 inmates with mental health and medical needs and to renovate the Rice Street jail, though Commissioner Mo Ivory opposed the measure over concerns about unsolid funding. The new facility will begin procurement in 2026 and be completed in 2028 while renovations to the jail will start in 2029 and finish by 2034. FOX 5 Atlanta
- ➤ Former councilman Steve Dorvee announced his candidacy for mayor on Aug.20—saying he ran because the current mayor dismissed residents’ concerns. Dorvee, who served on City Council from 1991 to 2000, joins incumbent Kurt Wilson and former Rep Mary Robichaux in the non-partisan race. Appen Media

- ➤ Fulton County officials said that 25,000 seniors in Georgia are losing health insurance after Sonder Health Plans was placed in receivership — its assets are now controlled by Insurance Commissioner John King.
