A charity that gives cars to families in need helped one of its own by providing a vehicle to a member facing hardship—an act that shows the group turning its help inward.

A slate of Father’s Day events is planned across metro Atlanta and North Georgia this weekend, where families celebrate dads on June 15.

In Roswell, dads enjoy free play at Area 51 Mini Golf (June 14-16) and join a family canoe day at Chattahoochee Nature Center (June 15).

City officials tentatively approved two top stormwater projects on June 10 as part of the Capital Improvement Program.

The Northmeadow Parkway project has a contract with Utility Asset Management Inc. for $146,225 (plus $14,622 contingency) and the Spring Creek Road project has a contract with GradeCo for $205,504 (plus $20,550 contingency), with both projects set to go to final approval at the City Council meeting on June 23.

GDOT has taken next steps to add express lanes to GA 400+ local officials said the project will start soon to help ease traffic congestion for drivers.
