- ➤ Jury selection began Monday in the case against Christian Eppinger— the final defendant in the YSL indictment— unless he accepted a last-minute plea, and he faces charges including shooting officer David Rodgers and stabbing another inmate. FOX 5 Atlanta
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Georgia have dropped as AAA reported that regular gas is 2 cents lower than last week, 4 cents lower from month-to-month and 43 cents lower than last year. Drivers pay about $42.90 to fill a 15-gallon tank plus AAA noted that supply continues to beat demand even as hurricane season may change the trend. WSB-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday at 7 p.m. at city hall, the Roswell City Council held a public meeting to take the last step toward adopting a short-term rental ordinance that will regulate vacation rentals like Airbnb and VRBO by requiring rental operators to register and undergo Fire Marshal inspections. City staff presented the second reading approved on May 27 and if passed, the ordinance will take effect Jan. 1, 2026— the council also reviewed an amendment to allow wine at special event facilities.
