ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Roswell officials and PBS GROUP representatives celebrated the launch of the new PBS Aerospace Plant on April 30, starting a trial phase for a facility that will produce, assemble, and test jet engines for defense and civilian sectors. The Czech firm now employs about 100 workers and will hire around 150 professionals within five years as the plant becomes the North American hub for turbojet engine production—boosting local economic growth. - ➤ Roswell officials approved a plan to resurface more than 30 roads with a $4.06 million contract set for formal approval on May 12 and repairs to begin May 20, as Vertical Earth was selected as the low bidder based on road condition tests. In addition, the meeting backed innovative fire safety equipment for the Fire Department and approved three city code amendments to streamline administrative and staffing processes — moves that aim to improve local infrastructure and services.
