- ➤ A Cherokee County jury found a Waleska man guilty of killing a 1-year-old boy who died after suffering serious injuries from shaking—Gregory Farrell Davis Jr. was convicted on charges including malice murder and first-degree cruelty to children and awaits sentencing while the boy's mother faces charges. - ➤ Riverside Park hosted the 25th annual Roswell Riverside Sounds concert series on April 26 when alt-country band Town Mountain performed for more than 800 attendees. The free series will feature four concerts through July with the next show scheduled for May 24 — organizers expect the series to return after park renovations and a planned hiatus in 2026. - ➤ Local elected officials warned that federal budget cuts may force significant changes to the Head Start program at YMCA centers that serve more than 3,000 children, leaving families unsure about future early learning services.
